A woman is currently pinned to the driver’s seat of her vehicle following an accident on the Castries-Gros Islet Highway, which happened a few minutes ago.

St. Lucia News Online (SNO) understands that the female was heading North, when a ServiTech van heading towards Castries allegedly crossed the median barrier close to Sandals Halcyon and crashed into the woman’s vehicle.

The incident is reported to have occurred around 4:35.p.m Monday (Aug.22).

A passerby told SNO that the woman’s leg appears to be fractured or broken, since the vehicle is tightly squeezed to her legs, caused by the impact of the accident.

According to the passerby, the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident is fine, but his vehicle is damaged.

Two fire trucks and an ambulance arrived on the scene minutes ago and are attempting to get the woman out.

SNO understands that the female is reportedly an employee of Sandals Resort.

We will provide you with more details as soon as it becomes available.
