Robert Rene
(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – On Thursday 21st of June, the South Castries Youth and Sports Council executive chose a new president.
Robert Rene was born, raised and resides, in the community of Barre Du Chausee – La Croix Maingot.
He was awarded the “Youth of the Year” for the South Castries Constituency in 2005 and the award for “Outstanding Youth Work”. He was recently nominated as an Outstanding Youth in Literary Arts by the National Youth Awards. His contribution to youth work is extensive.
He was a national cricketer, a member of the National youth Choir, a member of the St Lucia Cadet Corps, a Youth Parliamentarian and has served other various teams including Captain of the Maranatha eagles Cricket team and the PRO for the Eagle Freight Adventist Premiere League.
A former Accounting Administrator, Mr. Rene now works as a teacher at the Babonneau Secondary School.
He reaffirms his commitment to serving his district and is looking forward to creating programs that will help the council fulfil its mandate to improve the lives of young people through proper leadership training, and the creation of multiple avenues for talent management and improvement.
He will be taking over from the very competent Ms. Dianthea Justin who has stepped down as president for personal reasons. Mr. Nigel Fedee has also stepped down as the secretary.
The post of secretary is presently vacant, and a suitable replacement will be forthcoming in the coming weeks.
The South Castries youth and Sports Council would like to wish Ms Dianthea Justin and Mr Nigel Fedee continued success in their future endeavors and would like to thank them for their sterling contribution during their tenure.
