(SNO) – Two of Saint Lucia’s talented young cricketers are turning their hand to coaching, and developing their skills in that regard.
First-class players Keddy Lesporis and Craig Emmanuel will join a group of 17 registered participants for the CWI Level 1 Course this week (24-27 October) in Saint Lucia. Kumar Rampat and Ian Allen will deliver.
The Cricket West Indies’ Coaching Education programme includes the Foundation, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Cricket Coaching Courses. This week’s course in Saint Lucia is one of 17 in the Level 1 category to be held by March 2019.
Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams, says the revision of the Coaching Education programme is in keeping with the CWI’s plan to ultimately take full ownership of its Coach Education pathway from Foundation right through to Level 3.
Craig Emmanuel, the captain of Saint Lucia’s national men’s team in recent years, turned 33 in September. Coming from a prominent cricketing family in Mon Repos, he has played for the Combined Campuses and Colleges, as well as the Windward Islands.
Meanwhile, Keddy Lesporis has played for the Sagicor High Performance Centre, Saint Lucia Zouks, and the Windward Islands. He turns 30 in December.
